Hulu has poached a top executive at Fox, Mike Hopkins as its new CEO and Hulu's owner promised to provided $750 million.
Bloomberg and Reuters report that Mike Hopkins will take over as chief executive of the company, replacing Andy Forssell, who has helping Hulu grow from a startup in 2007 to about $700 million in revenue in 2012.
Officials at Disney and Hulu had no comment. Representatives for Comcast and Fox could not immediately be reached.
As head of distribution at Fox, Hopkins oversaw the collection of programming fees from broadcast affiliates and pay TV systems. He was also responsible for obtaining distribution for Fox Sports 1, according to Bloomberg.
